On 8 Feb, at 4:39 p.m, North Middleton Township, Hampden, New Kingstown, Shermans Dale, Citizen-Mount Holly, Carlisle Barracks, North Middleton, Union, Carlisle Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a second-alarm structure fire on West View in North Middleton Township. Upon arrival Company 39 personnel found the seat of the fire in the basement, with light extension into the kitchen and front walls of the house. 90 percent of the fire was in a small area of the basement and controlled quickly with a hand line from Engine 239. Another hand line was pulled from Engine 239 for fire extension attack and overhaul. Engine 139 provided water supply to Engine 239 and Truck 39 was set up and ready to provide support, but was not needed. All responding units provided Firefighter manpower for overhaul and cleanup. Shermans Dale apparatus and crew was diverted to standby at Company 39’s Station 2. Thanks to all units that responded and to their Firefighters. (All photos from Dustin Weese Photography 2019)
