NMFC creates first UASV and UAS Team in Cumberland County

After months of work, today at approximately 0800 hours, the new UASV, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Vehicle, (Past Utility 39) was put into service ahead of schedule and ran its first call for a missing person.
The UASV and the UAS Team is the first one of its kind in Cumberland County, and they will be housed out of NMFC to provide services under a special team formed.
In partnership with Cumberland County, PA – Department of Public Safety and South Central Task Force out of Hershey, the unit will serve not only Cumberland County but multiple counties around the South Central area on several different types of incidents that is fire or police related. This can include incidents like Search and Rescue, Structure Fires, Wildfires, Hazmat incidents, Vehicle Accidents, Medical Emergencies, and 3D model reconstruction.
The vehicle itself holds 2 DJI Mavic M30T’s with thermal capabilities. A Volariois V-Line Pro tethering system for more prolonged incidents, a CZI spotlight/ mic system, a Sozyin drop system, and a 5000w inverter to power everything and run as a mobile command center if needed for operations.
